SCOT-PEP guidance on responding to the consultation

Thank you for considering responding to the Scottish Government’s consultation on “challenging demand for prostitution, working to reduce the harms associated with prostitution and helping women to exit”. We want to encourage as many people as possible to respond.

We have put together this resource to try to make the process of responding to the consultation as easy as possible for you, and to help ensure that our concerns about sex workers’ safety and rights are reflected in the consultation responses.

You do not have to live in Scotland to respond to the consultation. You can respond anonymously or using a pseudonym. If you have relevant experiences – for example if you have done sex work, or work for a women’s rights organisation – we encourage you to talk about them, but you don’t have to.

The consultation is asking for your views on the following themes:

The consultation consists of nine questions (but you don’t have to answer every question). If you only have two minutes, we have put together a short template letter. If you have a little longer, we have a more detailed template option. This should still take less than ten minutes.
